The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported this month that manufacturing was the biggest job gainer in the state in July, adding 1,000 jobs and growing 0.6%.

Managing Partner Christopher L. Orsini estimates that Specialty Packaging, a national supplier of packaging equipment, films, parts and service, has grown by 15% over the past year.  In addition, the company has:

  • Increased its sales force to 11 people.
  • Opened a distribution facility in Londonderry, N.H.
  • Added some of the top suppliers in the industry, such as Sealed Air Corporation, Elmwood Park, N.J.; International Paper Company, Memphis, Tenn.; Intertape Polymer Group, Montreal, Canada, and Loveshaw, South Canaan, Penn.
  • Added new product lines from Sealed Air and Intertape Polymer Group.
  • Earned distributor recognition awards from Berry Plastics, Evansville, Ind.; Starflex Packaging,Pointe-Aux-Trembles, Quebec, Canada; Wulftec International, Ayer’s Cliff, Quebec; AEP Industries, Inc., Montvale, N.J., and Intertape Polymer Group.

“We now have 25 employees, up from 15 employees just 18 months ago, and about $19 million in annual sales,” Orsini said.  “We are also well positioned to continue growing as the economy improves.  We will continue to grow not only by providing the products and service our customers are looking for, but by continuing to add high-caliber employees and by looking to acquire companies that can further enhance our product offerings and reputation.”

Specialty Packaging Purchases MARK C Specialties

EAST WINDSOR, CONN., Nov. 27, 2012 – Specialty Packaging, LLC announced today that it has acquired MARK C Specialties, LLC of Rockville, which has been selling and servicing packaging equipment throughout New England for more than 25 years. “MARK C Specialties is well known in our industry,” according to Managing Partner Keith Streib. “The company has solid product lines and a good reputation. The purchase will enable us to build our customer base, add new product lines and continue growing.” All current employees of MARK C will be retained, and operations will be moved from Rockville to Specialty Packaging’s Distribution Center at Four Revay Road, East Windsor. The terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. One reason for making the acquisition is that there is almost no overlap in the accounts the two companies serve, according to Streib. Specially Packaging hopes to not only continue serving MARK C’s accounts, but to ofer them additional products and services. MARK C has been a distributor for many of the top suppliers in the packaging industry, including Intertape. Loveshaw, Plas-Ties, Clamco, Fox Packaging Services, Lincoln Coders Corporation and Sharp Packaging Systems. “Specialty Packaging will continue to represent these suppliers and we re committed to growing our business with each of them, through both equipment and consumable sales,” according to Streib. Expects $16 Million in Revenue during First Year

East Windsor, CT, August 01, 2012 – Specialty Printing, LLC announced today that it has spun off its packaging and distribution business, which will now operate independently under the name Specialty Packaging, LLC. “Although it was started as a division of Specialty Printing, we always intended for Specialty Packaging to become a separate company in short order,” according to Managing Partner Christopher L.
